G.A.R.E by hÄK

The digital G.A.R.E. module was developed by sound artist and film composer hÄK as part of the LaBasse production. It is stimulated by the analog piano events and transforms the piano sounds into more abstract events, forming a close connection with the system. GARE (generative automatic reactive elastic) Stochastic generative sound & music generator written in Pure Data. It is an experiment and still work in progress inspired by Xenakis’ Stochastic music concept without copying his methods. The idea was to create a generative music and sound generator which ideally composes abstract music by itself while the composer (hÄK) is having a walk in the park or is swimming in the lake....
